南米コロンビアから来日し、日本・アジアの舞台芸能を研究しているマウリシオさんが今回のゲストです。自国の国立大学でチェロを学んでいたマウリシオさんは、民俗音楽学の授業で日本の伝統音楽に出会ったことがきっかけで研究の道に進み、現在はスペイン語圏に、日本・アジアの芸能を紹介するためのメディアを複数プロデュースしています。マウリシオさんが、南米から見ておよそ地球の裏側にある日本の、しかも伝統音楽に魅了された理由は――？　作家のガブリエル・ガルシア＝マルケス（ノーベル文学賞受賞）や、画家・彫刻家のフェルナンド・ボテロらが育んできたコロンビアの文化的土壌や、自ら運営しているスペイン語版インターネット日本芸能百科事典“ARTES ESCÉNICAS DE JAPON”の活動などをふまえて、日本の伝統音楽の魅力について語っていただきます。

Mauricio is a Japanese and Asian performing arts researcher from Colombia. He has been creating several online Medias to introduce Japan and other Asian countries' performing arts to Spanish-speaking countries. He is from the country of famous personalities such as the Literature Nobel Prize winner Gabriel Garcia Marquez and the worldly famous painter and sculptor Fernando Botero. He first learned cello, and then got fascinated of Japanese traditional music at an ethnomusicology class at the National University of Colombia. This time, Mauricio will talk about his Colombian cultural background, how he got attracted by Japanese traditional music, and his current research activity and development of the Web Encyclopedia of Japanese Performing Arts in Spanish.
